A Girls Night!

Wow, I can't believe three months have past since my last blog.  I haven't been as diligent with this blog thing as I would have liked.  Renee keeps reminding me of this; if only there were eight days in a week!

Although, there have been many momentous events that have taken place over these past months,  I will start with my girls first sleepover.  Wow!  I am still recuperating  from this one. Over spring break,  I had promised the girls we would have a girls slumber party. (since Marcus was going on a three day pioneer trek with the youth at church)  I wanted their 1st slumber party to be perfect and ALL about them.  So I took the girls [Renee, Alyssa, Lexi, Janaia, and Courtney] to see the Hanna Montana Movie; to my surprise the movie was better than I thought it would be.  All the girls loved it.   Later on, we came back to make homemade pizza and each girl got to make their own ice cream sundae.  I had bought about 6 different toppings and 3 different ice cream flavors [sure to please everyone] right!  NOPE!! Alyssa was upset; I didn't buy mint chocolate chip.  Well for the past 4 1/2  years this child's favorite ice cream has been strawberry.  Well not today. Needless to say, it took about 30 minutes to convince this child to try something else.  After the ice cream episode, I pulled every mattress off the beds for all of them to camp out.  Well I guess I thought I could lift  a king size  mattress by myself, and pulled a muscle in my lower  back.  (I now sympathize  with anyone who has pulled their back out --  I felt this shooting pain radiate down my legs and STILL have some discomfort) Well, by now it's 9:30  and no one is tired;  except me.  So I convince them to watch "An American Girl" DVD, well the DVD player had a disk in it that was stuck and for the life of me I couldn't get the flippin' thing out.  So I decided to have a talent show with each girl doing a special routine.  Well, this lasted until 11:15 and I am keeping my eyes open with tooth picks by this time.  So I finally had to just shut lights off, because the next day I was taking them to do pottery.   I thought they'd at least sleep in until 7:30 or so since it was pretty late before they all crashed.  NOPE! By 6:30 I hear Renee and Courtney just giggling, shortly thereafter all the girls had awoke except Janaia,  (Kara had warned me, she likes to sleep in)  I had to wake her up by 9:30. The girls wanted breakfast and I had made up breakfast menus so the girls could  pick out the items they wanted to eat.  I realized I am so glad I do not own a small restaurant, which I wanted to; once upon a time.   My kitchen looked as if a tornado had come through.  I think every plate, fork and glass was used.  We finally get dressed to go to the pottery place.  Now, the big dilemma the place only has one of each piece and they all wanted the same piece.  So I  said they could pick out anything they wanted.  So $75.00 later every one was happy.  Although "our" sleepover didn't go entirely as planned, I think the girls  had a good time.  Later that night my girls told me I was the coolest mom in the world!  To me the whole girls night was PRICELESS!!

DOG FOR SALE!

This six month old black pug likes to pee on the floor and bed comforters,  eats poop, likes to chew on shoes, furniture, and cable wires. He is NEUTERED, but insists on humping my children [whom now need a body guard to protect  them from his tendencies] WHAT IS UP WITH THIS! I thought this tendency  would subside once he got fixed.  He also likes to tear up any trash  that is in garbage.  He smells like he just crawled out of a sewer, even after having been bathe.  This dog is really a big pain in the booty!  However, we love him ; I don't know why.

Welcome to Our Blog Debut!

Okay, I finally decided to give blogging a try.  I must admit, my sister-in law  Laurie has  inspired me to  give this a try, after viewing her blog.   Secondly, Renee has been asking [more like begging] me to  start blogging, as well.  So I decided,  what the heck, what a good time to start!

With 2009  just kicking off, we've already celebrated  Marcus' 36th birthday on January 3rd.  We decided to spend his birthday at the Homosassa Wildlife Zoo.  This turned out to be more enjoyable than I expected.   Renee and Alyssa had such a good time. However, this zoo is in the middle of nowhere  [I mean NOWHERE!]  So it took us 35 minutes to find somewhere to eat after we left the zoo.  So my children, had become just a wee bit cranky.  After passing several places that did not  look safe enough to leave the car and/or walk inside, we stumbled across this little Italian cafe.  Much to our surprise; It was incredible!   Marcus' Birthday Dinner had turned out to be one of the best Italian places we've eaten in quite some time!  Happy Birthday Babe, I hope you enjoyed your special day as much as we, girls did.  We love you, Daddy!

Our next  endeavors include:  celebrating Renee's 8th birthday on Jan 17th followed by her Baptism on the 18th. [she is very excited!]    Oh!  let's not forget Harley [our dog] getting neutered in the midst of the week.  Well, it just seems like  another day in the life of a Dewberry!
